"Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda, Star Wars
I’ve heard people over the years say; ‘I can’t do that’, ‘I’ll just mess things up’, ‘I know I will fail’, ‘it was caused by my childhood’, ‘I was raised that way’ or ‘I’ll try’ – It’s time to let go of the past people, it’s time to stop putting oneself down and forge ahead and succeed at …whatever it is you want to succeed at. Everyone out there already knows that you can do anything you put your mind to. (You’ve probably heard this a hundred times throughout your life … well now you’ve heard it a hundred and one times)
The immortal and infamous Yoda (Star Wars, 1980) once said to young Luke Skywalker "Do or do not. There is no try." What does this mean exactly? and how does this relate to me? in the here and now?
If you think about it, in the past there may have been things you’ve not accomplished or there are projects left undone or even simpler you’ve forgotten to call a friend back….Why? because you have probably said these words to yourself “I’ll try”, well there’s no action in try… either you do it or you don’t do it. But let’s not dwell on the past and instead think of all the wonderful things you would like to accomplish now and in the future.
Change your mind; choose hypnosis to access this motivation and determination in a safe and natural way because you already know how to… I would like to share with you an event that took place several weeks ago. I was driving to work. It was a little cool outside and a light rain was falling. Just as I crossed over into the right hand lane, I heard a loud POP. My car started to skid off the road and began to spin around. When it came to a stop, I was facing the opposite direction that I had been traveling. Wouldn’t you know it, a flat tire. That’s going to cost me. And, I’m going to be late to work, not to mention the fact that the car is going to have to be towed away and I could have been killed.
But, as I began to think about it in a more positive manner, my children weren’t in the car with me. they were safe at home. I didn’t hit anyone else. And, better raining than snowing outside. To top it all off, I was able to take an extra hour off from work, which I needed anyway.
The moral is that there are always as many positives in any situation or set of events, as negatives, but we always seem intent on pursuing the negative. Positive thoughts create positive actions which in turn create a positive reality.
