#1 What is Hypnosis?
It is a state of relaxation that the average person reaches at least a couple of times a day, once just before falling asleep, and again just before waking. (Your brain wave pattern goes from Beta to Theta which is a highly suggestable state). With Hypnotherapy we guide you into that state, and give you the appropriate suggestions that we agreed on in advance. Once this is done, the sub-conscious begins acting on these suggestions. #3 Do people do things under hypnosis that is against their morals? No. Nobody ever does anything against their own morals and judgement. In stage hypnosis, the volunteers are usually under the influence of alcohol and have come to the show for the purpose of relaxing, acting silly, and have a good time. Therefore, they are easily encouraged to do so. If you were told to do something out of character or against your morals, you would openly disagree or awaken. (That is why the suggestions in question #1 have to be that of the client, the therapist can't make up suggestions on his own.) Back to top of page
#4 Can you erase a person's memory? No, but you can help a person transform a memory which may be causing them problems. In the subconscious mind are memories which generally are responsible for our decisions, attitudes, feelings and behaviours. Back to top of page
#5 Can anyone be hypnotized? Yes. As long as they have the ability to concentrate as most people do. The stronger the concentration, the deeper the relaxation. They must also be willing. No one can be hypnotized against their will.

#8 Is Hypnosis medically approved? Yes, since 1958 in the United States and Great Britain. The American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the British Medical Association have all adopted hypnosis as a viable therapeutic tool. (In Canada their are currently no regulations regarding Hypnosis) When I compare this to my medical background as a paramedic... the U.S. had paramedics in the mid 1960's. Our first paramedics in the nations capital rolled onto the streets in 1995. We seem to be a little slower to embrace the inevitable. Back to top of page
